Letter from the Secretary-General

It is with immense pride and great enthusiasm that I extend my warmest welcome to all participants of the Antalya Anatolian High School Train Model United Nations Conference 2026, taking place on November 21st–22nd in the beautiful city of Antalya.

As Secretary-General of AALTRAIN’26, it is both an honor and a privilege to welcome you to this conference. Model United Nations is far more than a simulation of international diplomacy; it is an opportunity to challenge perspectives, develop confidence, build meaningful connections, and discover the power of your own voice.

Whether you are joining us as an experienced delegate or attending your very first MUN conference, I hope AALTRAIN’26 will become an experience that stays with you long after the closing ceremony. Every debate, every resolution, and every challenge is an opportunity to learn something new—not only about international affairs, but also about yourself.

Behind this conference stands an incredible Academic Team consisting of our Under-Secretaries-General, Academic Assistants, Chairs, and Board Members. Their dedication, knowledge, and commitment have shaped the academic experience we aim to provide. From introductory committees to more advanced simulations, every committee has been carefully prepared to challenge delegates while creating an environment where everyone can grow.

I would also like to express my deepest gratitude to our Principal, Mr. Kılıç, and our dedicated advisor, Mrs. Bilici, for their invaluable support throughout this journey. My sincere appreciation also goes to every member of the Executive Team, whose dedication and effort have transformed an idea into the conference we are proud to present today.

Most importantly, I would like to thank you, our delegates. A conference exists because of the people who fill its rooms with ideas, questions, diplomacy, and ambition. Your participation is what gives AALTRAIN’26 its purpose.

As we come together, I would like to recall the enduring words of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk:
“Ey Türk gençliği! Birinci vazifen, Türk istiklâlini, Türk Cumhuriyeti’ni, ilelebet muhafaza ve müdafaa etmektir. Mevcudiyetinin ve istikbalinin yegâne temeli budur. Bu temel, senin en kıymetli hazinendir.”

To every delegate: enter your committees with confidence, question what you know, listen to perspectives different from your own, and never hesitate to raise your voice. Defend your country’s interests, seek compromise when necessary, and most importantly, make this conference your own.

I look forward to witnessing the ideas, diplomacy, and determination that will define AALTRAIN’26.
